Im really glad to hear paper towns is good, i haven't watched it yet but i was scared the movie was going to ruin the book >~<

I don’t think it ruined the book for me. It really just gave me a new appreciation for the characters of the story in a new way!

Let us know what you think once you see it! Hopefully, you like it as much as I did!

Paper Towns!

The movie was so amazing. First, the actors and actresses fit their roles so well. I loved Q’s friends so much and as someone who’s leaving for college in a month, I found them to be so relatable. I also loved the changes made from the book to screen, like Angela’s character having more of a role. I thought the night with Margo was a little shorter than expected, but it also shifted the focus of the movie from the magical Margo to Q and his journey to find himself.

Overall, a solid movie with great acting and an amazing soundtrack.

Going to see Paper Towns tonight and can’t wait to let you all know how it is! Super excited to see Nat Wolff in another great role! :)

Things to be found in John Green books.

I always loved how in his books you could go from something really profound to something like “hump the moist cave wall” so I made a side-by-side of some of my favourites.

that’s because he wrote teenaged characters and he did it well. Sometimes we like to think we’re invincible and say fancy shit and sometimes it’s “hump the moist cave wall”

I have never read a John Green novel.

But I would care a lot more about critiques of him if any of the people I’ve seen shitting on him had actually read a John Green novel either.

Or pretty much anything that has ever come out of his mouth.

It’s really disgusting that people accuse John Green, a writer with clinical depression and anxiety to the point of it being very disabling at different times of his life, as someone who might romanticize and encourage teen suicide.

As an aside, I love his self awareness about his own writing. That shit is hard to do.

On the existence of his crash course videos alone, which provide free, accessible, consistent, intersectional, and quality higher level education to anyone with an internet connection (which is a fucking revolutionary concept and execution and should not be treated lightly) I am forever a fan of this man.

I think a lot of this springs from people complaining that the character of Augustus Waters is pretentious. And like, yes, he is. But there’s a definite intention to that, and it doesn’t invalidate the rest of his writing.

I’ve read everything John Green has written, and while I acknowledge that his material is in NO WAY perfect, a lot of false accusations about his writing are being thrown around and I’m pretty not-okay with that.

I thought I would share with you the evolution of my tfios fan art, that then expanded into a panorama that encompassed John’s core four.

It took me about 4 days, and I got about a cover done a day.  I’ve never done digital painting on this level before, and was constantly surprised at the results as I was drawing this (especially the flower).

I was really hoping DFTBA records would pick these up as posters, as they’re the only website that could sell them in sets, plus being.. y’know, really suitable.  I’ve gotten hundreds of requests for posters, but they seem completely disinterested, so I’ll try and sort something out for everyone (probably involving redbubble).

If you’re interested in buying a poster I would suggest following me here on tumblr.  I’ll certainly be vocal about it if I work it out.  And who knows, if all goes well, maybe I’ll do more stuff like this in the future.

This is freaking awesome.

I made my sister a cake for her 17th Birthday!

i made this for a friend after she had her heart torn to pieces by tfios im trying to save her

the first time i read paper towns, i read it on hanko de mayo and the epic beginning where they go to do that thingy where margo gets revenge is also on hanko de mayo

My sister just came back from her school Ottawa trip with two gifts. I was expecting little souvenirs and it ends up being TFIOS and Paper Towns. Probably a very memorial moment of getting TFIOS. DFTBA!
